Omg Fall!

Alright, so if you only know me through my blog, you could already guess that I love Fall. And I'm very excited that tomorrow is September 1st! yay! Go Fall.

Okay enough about fall :)

I miss France, badly.
I miss the language and the lovely culture. Soo I really want to save up some money to get back over there. Unfortunately I know that won't happen for at least another two years, but a girl can dream can't she?
There's a lovely blog called The Paris Apartment and its all about French antiques and Parisian style, and I adore it! All the pictures make me squeal with anticipation of my next trip. I need to start watching more French period piece movies. While I'm not a big antique collector, its fun to read her blog about the antiques she gets, because they are so exquisite :)

Okay I'm out, I just had to get out how much I miss France tonight!

Blazers, Boots, and Scarves...Oh My!

I just want to wear scarves, tights, jackets, and boots. That's my rant for this evening. I want them and I want them now...all of them. :)

(Urban Outfitters)
(Anthropologie)(Anthropologie)

I die....I need this jacket!!

(Anthropologie)

Wow I think im drooling, I love these boots

I also enjoy the simplicity of these flats. They're classic, but still so chic :)

Yes I'm very aware of my unhealthy obsession with Anthropologie...

Vacations, Life Crises, and Good Books

So last time I posted, it was right before I went on vacay (which was uhh mazing, in case you lovely bloggers were wondering!), and then when I got back, things got ridic crazy...anyways I need to start posting more often. I made a commitment to to try to blog more, and I'm going to do my best to stick to it!

Speaking of my vacation: I got to see some friends from high school! We went out one night when I was in town. We had a lovely dinner together at Selena's, an authentic Mexican restaurant, well as authentic as upstate new york can get! Then we went downtown to get a few drinks, and ran into a drag show, which you will soon find out, we love to go to. I'm not sure why the four of us like to do that, but they are always so much fun :)
Then I got to see Tom Petty again with my family, which was an experience I have to tell you, but as always, was a great time!

Update on my life: I'm kinda going through a life crisis. I'm in serious need of some change, and I'm starting to really try to make that happen. I need to start doing the things that make me happy. When I get more of my life crisis figured out, I'll update you, but unfortunately for now, I need to keep them to myself.

I've been reading a few good books lately, how about you? I'm in the process of reading, "In Defense of Food" by Micheal Pollan. I'm almost a year old vegetarian :) and I really am happy with that life decision. I watched "Food Inc" about six months ago and it changed my life. I am told this book is the same way...I'll let you know when I finish! :)

Anyways, its getting late on a Sunday night lovelies, so I'm off.

Its been a while...

Wow its been way too long since I last posted and updated. Work got crazy and I just got really busy!! Taylor Swift's new single "Mine" is out and I'm loving it! I can't stop listening to it, which I'm sure is no shock ;) check it out on itunes!

I'm so excited I am going back home (upstate new york) on Saturday for a whole week to be with my family!! I love vacations at home! One of my oldest friends just got engaged (so jealous!) and her engagement party is Saturday-perfect timing right?! Then putzing around seeing some old friends and eventually going to a Tom Petty concert :)

Alright I'm READY FOR FALL. I love, love, love fall-it's my favorite time of year...i love boots, jeans, sweaters, cardigans, tights and cozy dresses! Now I need to find some...
So Rachy and I went to NY & Co today and we found some CUTE stuff. I'll upload some pics once I've bought a few things. But until then, I'm going to be on the hunt for some great new pieces to add to my wardrobe because I am beyond bored with mine. You know when you just feel like everything you own has been worn a million times? That's what my whole closet feels like...so I'd like to change that. asap.

Okay Rae and her bffers are at a John Mayer concert tonight, so I'm going to snuggle up with 500 Days of Summer for the evening.

Oh and my horoscope for this week from thefrisky.com?

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

"You’ll be at your luckiest if you let your past be your guide to your future, which means don’t try to give anyone or any situation the benefit of the doubt now. You’ve learned your lessons and it’s time to put that knowledge into play. As it goes, burn you once, shame on them; burn you twice, shame on you."

I've had a rather interesting and extremely difficult week at work, and this horoscope prediction is perfect. :)

Lookbook: Blazer

So I haven't been sleeping well this week (its Rae, she's away on vaca and I miss her-haha just kidding. I mean I do miss her, but I just haven't been sleeping well for some reason.)

Anywaysss!! Anyone watch the Hills finale?! Genius!! Just leaves you wondering what was real and what wasn't.

Blazer: NY & Co, Top: Old Navy, Skirt: Gap
I have had this blazer in my closet for close to a year now, wanting to wear it, but not really knowing how to wear it. Then I woke up and said hell with it, I'm trying the blazer for the day. I'm not loving this outfit for two main reasons. 1. I wish I would have been wearing as shorter skirt...I think that would have helped the look a lot, because the blazer and the skirt are both long, and it makes the outfit look out of balance. Unfortunately I'm not comfortable wearing a short skirt to work....2. I'm not loving the fact that I'm not wearing cute heels. Unfortunately being 5'8" means that wearing heels to work with a skirt (event a long one) makes you kinda look like a hooker...

Since I don't have a great camera, my pics aren't the best...bear with me! (I have a Sony Cyber-Shot) It's good for parties and silly pics with friends, but not great for anything else.

I finally caved and went to Verizon today and got an upgrade on my phone! yay! Unfortunately they were out of stock of the Droid X, and I really want that phone, soooo they're mailing it to me-YAY :)

Alright I'm snuggling in to watching P.S. I Love You with a glass of wine!
Hopefully soon I'll have pictures of my redecorated room. I'll keep ya updated!

In Need Of A Little Inspiration

So, I've had a bit of an "erin weekend." I needed a little time to really be alone and relax after a really hectic two months of work. With Rachel away on vacation, this was the perfect time to have a me weekend. I've been very stressed out, and I have really needed to find a way to bring my blood pressure down a little. I've also been feeling pressure to find more of a purpose or direction in my life. I have spent virtually every year of my life since birth in school, except for this past year...and this past year of transition hasn't been without its difficulties.

While I don't regret picking up my life and moving over 3 hours away from my family...it has come with some sacrifices. I learned so much in the past year and grown so much as a person. But I miss my college friends, and them living 2 houses down from me. I'm so lucky to have found Rae, because she has helped me through this last year of transition. I would like to think that we've helped each other get through this.

I must admit, not having to study the past year has be LOVELY, but I crave it...how weird is that?!
Soooo...I'm going to look into going back to school and getting my masters degree. Shippensburg University is close to me and they offer a good MBA program. So I'm going to schedule an interview with the admissions staff to look at the prerequisites to be accepted, and hopefully I'll have those!

On a more positive note, I redecorated my room during my "erin weekend!"

Now I just need a rug and a comfy armchair for my reading corner! If I had the money, I would pick this rug from target:

Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll go on sale!

Alright sorry to be such a bummer with this post! I finished watching season 3 of Everwood, and cleaned out some clothes to give to goodwill. I joined the library!

So back to the original point of this post...I need some inspiration to get myself moving in life. I feel freaking STAGNANT and I NEED and CRAVE change right now.

So lets go change-BRING IT ON!

:)

I want, I need, I die

Soooo I'm on a bit of a tight leash when it comes to the moolah these days, ergo, I'm going to just lust after a few small, teeny tiny items like these:

How cute are these babies??

You can own a pair of these puppies from Anthropologie for a pretty penny-$178

These would be lovely paired with a mini such as this one from Urban Outfitters for only $48! I unfortunately can't get the picture to show up...so you'll have to just check out the link, I promise it'll be worth it!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm a fiercely intense person, as Rae can attest to. I can imagine that sometimes I'm difficult to live with, but I suppose who isn't? Maybe we all just say that to help us get by...maybe its the truth.

On a similar (or maybe not so similar) note, I found this image recently and I'm loving it. I kinda want to make it into a print to put in my room. It's amusingly fierce.

credit: today will be better

I have an obsession with reading. I love to find a good book, and then stay up until 4am reading on my porch in a thunderstorm finishing every last drop. This is, on my fictional porch, as the Taj Mahal (Rae and I's nickname for our place) is not furnished with a porch. But if I had a porch, I'd be on it all the time, reading, or drinking. Probably more drinking than reading.

I love LOVE love France.
I love the culture, the language, the country side, the cities, the castles, the food, the wine. I miss France desperately. I want to go back as soon as I can...which will be quite a while, but I don't care, it's too beautiful of a place to give up hoping that I'll get back there one day.
La France, Je t'aime!! Ne m'oublier pas!

Stuck with "Everwood," Rae, and La Tour Eiffel...not a bad place to be

So I guess one would assume that at the beginning of any random blog there would be some explanation for the writing...an explanation for the expression. I'm not some emotionally tortured soul who feels the need to express their feelings on a blog. I mean, define emotionally tortured...I kid, I kid! I suppose some of it is self-expression-but I wanna do it, so let me!

I'm not really sure what this blog will turn into, so just go with it, and maybe you'll get a giggle out of my posts :)

Recently my roommate, Rayyychel and I have rekindled our love of a long dead show, Everwood. Ever heard of it? Well it was the best show in high school, and season 3 was just released....so we're working out way through it. But Rae is going to the beach on Saturday with her family for a week, so the marathon going to be put on hold for a week or so. It's just as well since ABC Family is having a Harry Potter movie marathon this weekend...and, yes, I will be proudly watching a good portion of said marathon.

That being said, I am a random and odd person, and tend to write as I think...ie: I jump around, A LOT. Rae joked that this blog will turn into the most random and odd thing, because I am so random and odd.

Currently I'm in a weird place in my life. Post-Grad, with a job that I love to hate (Rae will love that one). I feel stuck, like I keep waiting for the rest of my life to start...I guess I'm done waiting for it to just fall in my lap. Nothing comes easy, or to those who wait-damn the old adages. I'm going to start making changes, because I'll go berserk if I don't.

1: I'm making a serious attempt to become a healthier person. This started close to a year ago, when I became a vegetarian. I'm actually really happy with that decision. I thought I would miss meat a lot more than I really ever did, and I haven't had a craving for a burger in a long time...usually when I do I can appease it with a few french fries (yes I see the irony in that, and the complete hippocracy)
2: I'm trying to go to the gym more...which hasn't gone too well in the past few weeks, but in my defense I have been working a lot! Back to the gym tomorrow!
3: I'm considering going back to grad school...
4: I studied French in college, and studied abroad in France for four glorious months. I want to continue speaking it, so I think I'm going to try a French speaking/meeting group this month. It could be a great opportunity to speak such a beautiful language again-J'espere!!

Some inspiration until next time: a little slice of me with my one true love affair: La Tour Eiffel
